Family Nurse Practitioner

Hello, my name is Josef. I am currently attending the University of Detroit Mercy for my masters in Family Nurse practitioner studies. I am looking to further my career down the nursing spectrum. I currently work at a local hospital in the emergency room and day in and day out see the need of why people do not need to come to the ER. The main reason being is that people do not have a primary care doctor/provider that they go and see, instead they seek their primary care in the ER. This is really expensive to the government and health systems. I figured I would expand my herizons as the first member of both sides of my family to attend college and shoot for a masters level prepared Family Nurse Practitioner. With me becoming a nurse practitioner it will help take the burden of the ER visits and get the people where they need to be to cover their healthcare ailments. More about me, I currently work like I have mentioned in an ER in Detroit. I also work part-time as a firefighter/EMT in my local community where I live. I am attending the program at U of D part-time because no way would I be able to work at all if I was going full-time. My fiance and I have been engaged for 6 months and are planning our wedding and saving up for that because our parents do not have money to help. So money for school becomes tight and thats why I found GoGetFunding. With the donations hopefully it can help with my schooling expenses and tuition as money is tight.
