Family in need

My family and I our trying to save to buy a new car. I was laid off in December and I've applied for every job I can but no luck. The money we have saved we our using for rent and bills and groceries ao we don't have much for anything else. The car we had died today and the cost to fix it we'll lets just say it's worth to get a new one.  Im 26 and my wife is 23 we have to kids a daughter who's 5 and a son who is 10 months, my wife stays home with my son for couple more months than she can work so I'm just asking for a little help to get my family a little bit ahead.
