Family in Financial hardship

Hello, my family and I are currently suffering a hardship due to an unexpected illnesses that has caused myself to be out of work for a while now trying to figure out medically what is wrong has become increasingly exhausting financially as well as emotionally. My husband is the only one working and has recently been suspended for one week without pay due to an emergency room visit he had to leave work early to take me to, which was just another strike towards his increasingly poor attendance record over the last 12 months.
We had to file bankruptcy chapter 13 in order to save our home from foreclosure, that has left us with a net income of $400.00 or less every two weeks to live on. It's been very hard to make sure bills(only utilities) are paid and to buy food . We do not have cell phones or internet service. We don't qualify for government assistance so we rely on food banks and charities to help. Because we have a 16yr old son of our own as well as his friend we took in a little over a year ago that was homeless and sleeping at the school after leaving a neglecting and abusive home involvement. Since then one more of his teenage friends another young man has come to stay as well and although we have room for the boys so they are not in the cold on the streets and lots of love we have increasingly diminished practical resources. We do not have enough to get by let alone any extras. My son has a big heart and a soft spot for homelessness like myself. And although we would be able to make ends meet a little better without extra people to provide for he has chosen to sacrifice birthdays Christmas and all other things extra that he used to receive in abundance when both my husband and I were gainfully employed. The very few resources we have access to have been exhausted for the year since some such as utility assistance is offered either once a year or for water bill once a lifetime. I have no idea what to do anymore. The boys are in need of everything our refrigerator is barely working out microwave just went out and our cooktop has only two working burners. If there is anything anyone can do to assist in information or anything else we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
