Families suffering due to no tourism in India

My name is Tarun Sharma. I am fundraising for the drivers and guides in India who no longer have any work with our family company now that foreign tourists are no longer travelling to India as a result of Covid-19.

Our family company has served foreign tourists travelling in India for many years. The drivers and guides worked extremely hard, always trying to give their best, but for almost a year now they have had no work at all. They are family men with families to support.

During this pandemic my father has helped these families as much as possible, but he has no work either. He has sold the cars in attempt to help his former staff but that is still not enough. The government in India has provided no help for drivers and people in the tourist sector.

Any money raised will go towards supporting these families and helping the drivers to open some side businesses where they could make a living to support their families.

It is quite hard for me to ask for help as I have never imagined that I would need to do something like this. However, I know that there are many people around the world who had a great time in India, mainly due to their driver.

We promise that any money will go directly to the drivers and their families. They are good people who have worked for our family business for a long time. Your help will be appreciated not only by the drivers but by my family, who feel a responsibility to our employees who have become redundant through no fault of their own.
