South African families in Distress

According to the World Health Organization, half of the households in South Africa aren't getting

enough to eat and are facing a food crisis..

Poverty, unemployment and the price of food and petrol have led to hunger and malnutrition.

This has left many families battling to meet their basic household needs. People are living below the

poverty line and are struggling just to survive.

In South Africa, out of a sense of desperation, people are seen begging at traffic lights.

Their sense of need and hunger has stripped them of their dignity and self-respect.

But what the world does not see are those families who have lost their jobs, lost their homes, or are

about to lose their homes. These families have no one to turn to! They are in need of dire financial

assistance, but no institution is prepared to help them, save their homes or provide them with decent

living conditions.
