FAITH against Tongue Cancer (Leomark Alcos)

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”

This verse is what I hold close to my heart. And we have been living our lives honouring the blessings of our Lord. Although in this current difficult time of our life, we seek our Lord’s help more.

I am Rhina Angela Alcos from Batangas, Philippines. My husband, Leomark Alcos, is currently fighting a tough battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue or commonly referred to as Tongue Cancer. At times like these, you do get to question your faith.

My husband was always the cheerful and helpful person. If someone needs help, he will try his best to help out. As he knows the struggle of being “in need” of help as well. He doesn’t smoke, he prefers to go to work than go out for a drink with friends. He is a good provider to our family of 5. We have 3 kids that goes to school and as of the moment, they had to transfer to their grandma’s place as we can’t support them in their schooling anymore. I know God has a perfect plan for everything and there is a good reason behind all this. I am never going to lose hope, I am strengthening my faith with God more than ever. But we, as a family, do need your help.

We are knocking on your kind hearts for help please. My husband’s weight is now down to 31 kilos from his average 65 kilo weight. The doctors said that we will go through a long process and with it comes the financial burden.

I am reaching out to you. If you are a mother or a father as well, I am sure you understand our strong feeling of eagerness to be with our kids. We want to see them grow up as good people. If you are a brother, sister, husband, wife or even a friend who is also going through something similar. I feel your pain. I understand the feeling of seeing someone who is jolly and cheerful be suddenly stripped down with all the positive energies and fight a disease that you have no idea where it came from.
