My beautiful daughter Jo-Mari has been struggling with Type 1 diabetes since high school. With countless health issues including losing all her teeth in her late twenties, she also had to have reconstructive surgery on her lower jaw as her bones were starting to crumble from being weak. Over the years she's endured so many medical procedures that weren't covered and honestly, I don't know how we've managed so far. Yet she always seems to smile and carry on regardless. Her strength and resilience is something I admire every single day.

In March of this year, more bad news struck when Jo-Mari had to under go yet more surgery to have her left eye completely removed as the weakened nerves and muscles were causing to much strain on her sight, leaving her with intense migraines and piercing pain.

Unfortunately, after endless dead ends and excuses, Jo-Mari's medical insurance refuses to pay for the costs of a prosthetic eye as it's deemed a 'cosmetic' procedure rather then a life altering necessity due to an illness.

Losing an eye and the ability to see completely changed my daughter's life. She's restricted in what she can do at work and in her every day life. As much as I even try, I will never truly understand what my daughter must be going through mentally and physically.

If you are able, and what ever you can afford, please help restore my amazing daughter's confidence and freedom to feel human again. To start the healing process of this ordeal and to finally feel whole again.

She truly deserves to be happy after everything she's been through. I just want her to be safe and happy.

I thank you all for having the heart to help her heal.
Kind regards, Joy
