Extending Care for Poor and Homeless Street Children in India
MOTHER SOCIETY (Miracle Organization towards Health and Education Remedial Society) is a Non-Profit and Non-Governmental Voluntary Organization (NGO) registered under Societies Registration Act 35 of 2001, in the year 2005, Its registration number is 647/2005, dated 15-12-2005. It is also registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 1976, on 13 Oct 2009. It has Income Tax (IT) exemption under Sections 12 A. Our Organization is formed with the group of seven likeminded people who are having passion in social service, it intends to take up social, economic, health, educational, vocational training, livelihoods, agricultural, rural development and cultural Activities for empowerment of disadvantaged & vulnerable sections of the society particularly of women, children and youth and all in general. We believe in strengthening of disadvantaged & vulnerable sections for equity, justice & peace.
Summary
The children at risk are a major social problem in the society which needs to be given due to consideration to address their problems of the children. The children in menace are not able to enjoy their legitimate right to play associate and educate. In this connection, Mother Society realized the need in rescuing the abandoned and runaway children and observed the growing intensity of the problem of massive migration of the rural children into city as an worrying phenomenon.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Socioeconomic deprivation and parents surmountable pressure on the children often force the children to fly from their home, unfortunately these children entangled in the hands of the malefactors, and many children end up as victims of sexual exploitation, child laborers and bonded laborers, and even they are used for drug trafficking. Furthermore, the school educational system and the teachers’ over control also chief factors in driving the children out of their homes.
How will this project solve this problem?
Mother Society has drafted a systematic plan to rescue the abandoned and runaway children and to rehabilitate them in Shelters. The ultimate aim of this proposed project is to facilitate a drive mechanism to rescue the abandoned and runaway children promptly and to reunify with their families for children having a trace out and for others to equip in skill and vocational education to lead a standard of life in par with other children who have ample opportunities to flourish.
