Extend the life of Maria Emma Duran

This is my mother, Maria Emma C. Duran. She is 57 years old, god-fearing, kind-hearted, selfless, a loving mother of 4, a church choir member and a member of the ‘Apostolado ng Panalangin’ (The Apostleship of Prayer) at the Holy Family Parish, G.M.A., Cavite.

The last few months have been difficult for me, my family and most especially for my mother when we learned last October 2017 that she has a brain tumor. After that, she has been in and out of the hospital.

On 25 November 2017, my mother underwent a brain surgery to remove the tumor and tissue biopsy was conducted, wherein she was diagnosed with “GLIOBLASTOMA, GRADE IV”, which is the most aggresive and very infiltrative type of brain cancer.

According to her Neurosurgeon, the average life expectancy of a patient with Glioblastoma is 12-14 months with treatment and often within weeks if untreated.

She will have to start oral chemotherapy while going through radiation therapy as soon as possible. However, the cost of the treatment is extremely expensive. The oral chemo drug that she needs to take for a duration of 6 - 12 months will cost around 1.5 to 2.5 million pesos, excluding the cost of radiation therapy.

Unfortunately, the treatments could only control the cancer and prolong her life - not save it.

Thus, we are asking for your financial help in order to support her treatment. No amount is too small. Your generous donations will buy us time, time to spend together as a Family. It will help pay for her treatment and numerous doctor’s visits.
