As of today, April 27, 2020, there has been over a 2 million people laid off work in the Philippines, most of which are from the hospitality industry.
We are a group of friends that are extending a hand to the workers of the F&B industry that were affected by the pandemic.
Most of the F&B workers in the Philippines are out of work for almost 2 months now. Most of these people were just earning minimum wage and had little to no savings. Many small companies/restaurants did not get any financial help from DOLE or SSS because they are either already out of funds or their system is being overwhelmed by the number of requests, thus they cannot attend to anymore requests. And somehow, even now that we're nearing the 3rd extension of the ECQ, there are still a lot that has not received any relief goods.
We were also affected by the said pandemic, this is why we need your help for us to be able to do more.
We want to help people that also once served us a food and/or a drink. These are the people that made us feel at home when we eat out, they gave us a feeling of a second home. Or even possibly, became integral parts of some our special days with our loved ones. Most of them are either let go of the company that they were working for when the lock-down was announced or are on an indefinite unpaid leave.
Any kind of help is appreciated. If you have goods to spare or even sharing this to people who you know might be able to help is more than enough.
