Extend a Father’s Eyesight

Hi, I'm Mark. I have a brother who is married with three children and has a degenerative eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinitis_pigmentosa)After years of watching his eyesight degrade to a point where he must almost always keep a bright headlamp on and bumps into things that are directly in front of him, I've decided to spearhead the quick funding to extend his eyesight for as long as possible. I want him to see his children and continue his hobbies in construction and technology. I am also very afraid of him getting injured. This is a surprise for him. I wish us to fund a pair of eSight goggles ($15,000  http://www.esighteyewear.com/ ). However, if for SOME REASON these goggles turn out unsuccessful, the funding will go toward health and healing - including acupuncture treatment by specific recommended doctors - ANYTHING that will help SLOW the degeneration. I believe any form of help to fight this disease will reduce whatever depression he may have, and in turn it will ALSO help to slow the disease due to improved mental health. I and our family extend our heartfelt thanks to all the thoughts and prayers and funds - even the smallest of which will add to make a difference! Take a minute to imagine yourself in his shoes: each day wondering what life will be like when the dark tunnel closes; bumping into one's kids and accidentally hurting them, thus feeling angry in deep frustration; quitting all sports and most social activities one used to enjoy not so long ago; complicating even the smallest task at home and with the kids; knowing that some day, when darkness sets in, one will be forced to only imagine what one's children really look like... it hurts me so much - I can't stand thinking about it!
