ALOHA!!!!

I am a new 5th grade teacher at Keonepoko Elementary school. The students experienced their first ever tropical storm last year, leaving them without power for two weeks. Then, the entire school was evacuated, and students placed in emergency school situations last year because of the lava flow from Kilauea threatening the school.

Now, they are back! There is a good deal of anxiety being back, and the students have been split from their peers for an entire school year. I am blessed to have a great class, and I really want to make this year memorable for them. A nice positive experience after a year of crazy.

Minecraft is an excellent teaching tool for many subjects. Students are currently writing an imaginitive journal about what might happen in the game. I would like to surprise the class by being able to build Minecraft into our curriculum. I have countless ideas of how to use Minecraft for math, reading, science and social studies (5th grade is about the explorers coming to America!)

Please help us fund this program for our class, and make this an amazing homecoming and a great year!

NOTE: The video link provided was a video made about the kids move, it is NOT my video.

Sponsor a student

Update posted by Samantha Cardines at 04:20 pm

it only cost $15 for a student to get access to this great program. Right now, I am using a projector and my iPad to integrate this program into lessons. We have used it for social studies, writing and math so far this year. These lessons would be so much

A couple of dollars

Update posted by Samantha Cardines at 12:27 am

Hello all! We have finished our first full week together. This class has the potential for awesomeness. I generally do not like asking for things, especially money! When our funds came through at the school, I like to see what the kids need. Unfortunately, the funds would not cover this. . . . .
