This year only, approx. 600 women were diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Cyprus. I am one of them. I have gone and still going through the entire ordeal from the mastectomy to the FEC chemotherapy. I am one of the lucky ones, no metastasis and fairly easy path. But I have learned that not all of us are this lucky.
Many of the women diagnosed with breast cancer are in a much advanced stage and cannot cater for themselves much. There are a few foundations in Cyprus that are creating miracles: from blood collection's at the patient's home up to driving them for chemotherapy sessions. Even free nursing at home in the worst days for patients who are alone in this world.
Even thou I am lucky with an early stage of cancer and with a family that caters to my every needs, I have also benefited so far from the help of this foundations (EUROPA DONNA, THE CYPRUS ANTI-CANCER SOCITY and PASYKAF). I am now as active as I can be, considering I am still doing chemotherapy, into collecting funds for them and providing products for their charity shops, with no expectations whatsoever, just the piece of mind that I can help in return to fight this ugly monster.
Anything you can donate, is highly appreciated and will be given to the ones that need it.
