This is Sphinx.
May I ask you for a moment of your time to read my story.
Sphinx has spent her entire life in Jinan, China where she enjoys playing fetch and watching lengthy documentaries about war and politics. Make no mistake it hasn’t been particularly easy for Sphinx and she’s had quite a few close encounters. She’s survived the icy streets of Beijing as a 3-month-old kitten; battled off pyometra *(a hormonal imbalance that causes a bacterial infection in a cat's uterus)* and nearly touched the gates of heaven after going into cardiac arrest on the operation table. Phew!
Despite it all, she tenaciously perseveres to continue serving *as an excellent emotional support companion to her lonely human who she continues to help heal and nurture day by day.*
With the recent outbreak of COVID-2019, Sphinx spends her days indoors *sanitizing her space, patiently awaiting her human’s return.**Sphinx recalls her companion speaking about her plans of relocating her to South Africa. With the arrival of the relocation time drawing closer, the thought of leaving Sphinx hauntingly fresh on the mind, one thought rained supreme, abandonment is not an acceptable option for such a brave, sweet companion especially with the Yulin festival right round the corner.*
Meanwhile, her human is trying everything possible to bring her home. As a last resort, we have shared this story with the public in the hopes of raising some funds for a pet that’s weathered out a storm of impossibilities. A total amount of R45 000 is required to pay for the cargo freight and vaccinations. So far, a total of R20 000 has been saved and any donation would be warmly received.
Endurance can only truly be appreciated in the face of vulnerability.
In this desperate attempt to bring her home, we implore anyone willing to contribute and embrace you for your consideration.
