Hello world!

For those of you who don't know already, my name is Eva Konstantinidou and I am 18 years old. For the past three years I have immersed myself into the breathtaking world of theater, film and screenwriting, and I am certain that this is the something I also want to pursue later on in college.

I have previously devoted myself and personal time through several ways in the domain. I have participated in my school's Drama Club twice, whilst I have also the honour of attending a Pre-college program in Smith College, focused on screenwriting (with a full tuition scholarship, that is).

Wanting to develop as much as I can in the field, I decided to apply for the Pre-college Program of Northwestern University (Located in Evanston, Chicago) called Cherubs; National High School Institute. I applied specifically to the film and video division. Even though I did not expect it AT ALL, I was overjoyed to find out that I actually had been admitted! Fast forward to this week, I found out that I will not be able to attend, as the financial aid package I have been provided with is not nearly enough to cover the expenses of 6.800$ for five weeks.

My family is not exactly made out of money, so paying the entire fee is honestly out of the question. It sadly is not doable. Hence, I decided with a heavy heart to turn down the wonderful offer, leaving the creation of a film portfolio at stake.

However, a few weeks after I found out about New York Film Academy's pre-college programs, and I was instantly appealed to all offers I came across on the internet. Although they are a LOT cheaper, they still are super expensive, reaching 5.5 k (WITHOUT TRAVELING EXPENSES). At this point, I would be absolutely THRILLED to register for any one of those, online or in-person, and hopefully create the film portfolio that I need to submit to colleges for a major in film or etc.

I poured blood, sweat, and tears into all my applications (I got admitted into every single pre-college program I applied to, just not with the scholarships that I was hoping to get or even a financial aid package that I wanted in the first place, which made attendance and enrolment super hard). I feel like I have tried extremely hard to give up on my dream and I do not want to let go and be robbed of the one and maybe even final chance I have this summer to explore a passion of mine that I truly love.

I know this is not a medical emergency, but this is my dream, and there is nothing else that I would like more than to explore the industry of film and particularly screenwriting along with other brilliant and talented peers. Any size of donation, small or large means the entire world to me, and shares are more than welcomed in this case, as I want the world to know my story.

Thank you for everything,

Eva Konstantinidou.
