Hello, My name is Ethan McDade. I am 16 years old, born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. I drive high performance race karts at the highest level in North America.
I started in this sport in 2008 as a means to spend time with my father. I showed natural talent immediately, breaking the track record in Junior 4cycle at CKRC in only my second month of karting. Under guidance of previous national and world champions, each following year I moved up a level early in order to maximize my learning opportunities. In doing so, I have achieved numerous pole positions, fastest laps, podiums and multiple championships.
In 2011 my talent was again recognized and I was asked to race for Italian Motors, one of the most accomplished teams in North America, the following year as a factory pilot of the Italkart brand and a team driver for Italian Motors, I raced against some of the most recognized kart racers as well as professional race car drivers. Over the last 2 years, my family has driven over 35,000 kilometres and made many sacrifices in order to provide me this opportunity.
Building upon my Junior Championship winning season in 2012, this year as a rookie senior, I have won the IAME Advance to France Championship. As a result, I am excited and proud to be afforded the opportunity to additionally represent Canada in competition. In October I will complete against the champions from other continents at the IAME International Finals in Lyon France. I am prepared and eager to show the world what I can do.
Although the championship package covers a number of expenses, there are additional costs which are beyond my families means. I am extremely appreciative of any amount that you would be willing to fund towards my dream to represent our country at the world level.
