Meraf is fundraising on behalf of her beloved son, Estifanos "Steve" "Nur-ud-Deen" Mesghinna. He has been in prison for almost 16 years and was falsely convicted in 2005 and sentenced to serve 41 years in state prison. He has a few routes to get released from prison much earlier including through seeking a conditional pardon from the Governor of Virginia, refiling an appeal because the prosecutors from his trial withheld evidence showing his innocence, and getting DNA testing performed to show that the state lied against him.
This is a ongoing fight for his release from incarceration and it requires resources such as a new lawyer to represent him for his conditional pardon petition. This will require financial as well as moral support. So please donate whatever you are capable of. No amount is too great or small. Most importantly support him with your prayers to God.
Thank you all for your past, present, and future support of Steve, his Mom, Meraf and the rest of his family. For those who sent money to Steve's GoFundMe page please understand that GoFundMe will refund your donations and they closed that fundraiser page because they don't allow for any fundraisers for people accused of violent crimes. Please resend you refunded donations to this fundraiser here which doesn't have that restriction.
We also need grassroots/local community support to encourage the Governor of Virginia to fairly review make a decision of the conditional pardon. So contact his office and let him know that you support Steve's conditional pardon petition.
May God bless you all and guide us to what's best for us.
