East Side Basketball Club

The Covid-19 Pandemic has been very challenging for all of us and education and athletics have been affected along with so many other industries. Our way of life has changed and we are adapting to a new normal. The East Side Escalades mission is to help New York City youth grow into strong young men and women, both on and off the court. and that has not changed even though the process may have.

The underprivileged and inner cities have been especially hit hard and there is more of a demand now than ever to help these kids whose families simply cannot be part of a program like this without supporters and donations from our Escalade Family. The Gyms we have been relying on through the years are not available so we have to adapt and rent from private gyms which have caused our costs to go up considerably.

On the court, we promote the development of personal accountability, sportsmanship and athletic skill. Our coaches teach selflessness and the importance of working with others; playing well with teammates and being a positive member of the team are crucial to us.

Beyond the court, academic success is a key component of our program. We partner with programs that help kids get into private schools using basketball as the tool to entry. Winning is valued, but developing a proper attitude and instilling core life values is of the utmost importance.
