PURPOSE OF THIS FUNDRAISING
My name is Arrissra, I'm living in Thailand and I grew up with a mind and thoughts that were unwholesome and recently understood the importance of self-healing from "sound" so I started a journey to heal myself, and the unhealthy thoughts from my mind. I recently became a Kundalini Yoga teacher, sound practitioner and this practice has helped me to go deep and understand the nature of sound healing.
With my first direct experience with vibration from the sound of Gong, I could feel the vibration "WITHIN" me so I decided to learn more, reserch more, and connect with more people who have more experience in the world of sound therapy, addictions, mental disorders, etc.
I have come to realize that what I learned about mental disorders, drug addiction, and the power of deep relaxation, etc. could be useful for others that were in these situations by offering sound therapy from Gong and Healing Bowls. And, to start off with it as a Seva project
However, with my current salary, I am unable to secure all the necessary equipment to help those in need.
However, this situation changed last year as I was blessed to receive funding to learn about the healing powers of Tibetan Bowls, Gong, and I also received a set of these ancient bowls.
This year, to help heal more people, I would like to seek funding for the following:
- 4 gongs of different sizes and their accompanying stands
- 1 set of healing bowls
These healing instruments are from the USA, so it will take at least a week to deliver, but the delivery costs are extremely high, due to the weight of the instruments.
The estimated cost is USD 20,000 - USD 25,000
If I am able to receive the funds to enable me to make these purchases, I will travel to offer Seva sessions at autistic schools, meditation ashrams or temples, drug rehabilitation institutions, patients with Mental Disorders (Mental Illness) at the National Institute of Mental Health, and nursing homes in Thailand. I will offer these services at least twice per month. During these sessions, I will share the importance of sound, frequency, and vibration so that they could carry on the work in their own community.
Included, of course, the technique of Kundalini Yoga from kriya, meditation, and mantra that would help them to receive the result in some situations.
I hope that one day this type of healing, in conjunction with medical therapy, will become more and more accepted

WHAT IS SOUND HEALING?
The most important principle of sound healing may be considered Resonance, a word with several implications. In the context of human healing, resonance can be described as the frequency of vibration that is natural to a specific organ or body system (such as the heart or the respiratory system). This innate frequency is known as the prime resonance.
At the cellular level, all cells emit sound frequencies as a consequence of their metabolic processes. Further, there is an interaction between the cell’s own sounds and those imposed by the environment, including sound healing devices. The resonance principle implies cellular absorption of the healing sounds that are introduced and/or their harmonics. In sound healing, resonance principles are engaged to re-harmonize cells that have been imprinted with disruptive frequencies. Such troublesome imprints may have been a result of toxic substances, emotional traumas, pathogens, or long-term exposure to noise pollution.
Through the current flourishing of research in the field, today the ancient art of sound healing is rapidly developing into a new and honored science. There is now a mass of research into the healing benefits of ultrasound, including its use in breaking up kidney stones and shrinking tumors. In addition, infrasound and audible sound are now also recognized as having immense healing properties.
Sound also acts upon cellular ion channels to elicit a healing response. Situated within a cellular membrane, ion channels are the means by which the cell receives nourishment and communicates with neighboring cells. In dysfunctional cells, it is believed that some of these vital channels are shut down causing cells literally to fall asleep. In this hypothesis, sound opens the closed channels, supporting the cell to awaken and resume normal functioning and replication.
Another key aspect of sound healing is “cymatics,” the study of wave phenomena, as pioneered by Swiss medical doctor and natural scientist, Hans Jenny (1904-1972). Jenny discovered that he could use sound to animate inert powders, pastes, and liquids into life-like, flowing forms that mirror patterns found throughout nature, art, and architecture. What's more, all of these patterns were created using simple sine wave vibrations (pure tones) within the audible range. Sound creates a dynamic mandala-like pattern in every water molecule of your physical body and, since the body is 60% water, the effect on your whole system is quite effective. Thus we see a physical representation of vibration, how sound manifests into form through the medium of various materials. "In the beginning was the word..." takes on a whole new meaning while looking at these experiments!
Sound healing 101. We explain how it works and how you can benefit from it on your healing journey
" The vibrational frequency in which we operate will attract a similar vibration to us. Like attracts like. The experiences of our lives are a direct result of our vibrational state, our thought patterns and feelings are sending around us frequencies that will attract what we are already processing."
It may be considered new age wellness but sound healing is hardly a new form of therapy. The ancient Greeks used music to cure mental disorders and throughout history, sound has been used to help people work faster, influence, and boost morale. Many also believe that sound can heal the body. That’s because humans have a natural instinct for sound therapy. Just think about how a favorite song can lift your mood.
Of course, these days, sound healing can take on many different forms. Because of how intuitive they are, music and voice are still very popular. However, many practitioners prefer to use instruments like tuning forks and gongs. That’s because these can work faster to achieve a healing effect. Here is a basic guide to sound healing.
Sound healing synchronizes brain waves to achieve profound states of relaxation, helping to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of the cells in our bodies
Simply, this involves using sound vibrations to relax your mind and body. “To heal is to make sound,” says Gong Master Martha Collard of Red Doors Studio. “Sound can shift frequencies from low energy of guilt and fear to higher vibrations of love and joy. Sound healing is the use of sacred instruments or voice to release energetic blockages inducing a state of ease and harmony in the body.” While there are many types of sound therapy, all of them produce vibrations that alter your brain waves.
Malbert Lee, a Hong Kong-based Crystal Bowl and Gong Master, says vibrations are especially useful for healing the body. “The adult body is 75% water, and water is a great conductor for sound vibration,” he notes. “When vibrations travel through the body, they promote circulation, energy flow, and rejuvenation. The frequency of the sound synchronizes with the brainwaves and activates destress responses in the body.”
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOUND HEALING?
Sound healing can help you clear energetic blockages and thus facilitate healing on a physical and mental level. Some of the benefits of sound therapy include:
- Relieves Stress: The brain operates our body. A high level of uneasiness and tension can hamper the smooth working of our brain. This leads to an emotional and physical imbalance to the body creating a barrier to our daily life. Sound healing therapy relieves your brain from unnecessary stress restoring a happy lifestyle.
- Fewer mood swings and enhanced Thinking: Anxiety and stress are like slow poison to emotional health. Continous anxiety can reduce thinking ability. Perpetual emotional disturbance can be a cause of vague thinking. Sound Therapy uses the Sound healing frequencies to re-balance the brain functioning. Sound therapy gives you clear thinking.
- Lower blood pressure
- lower cholesterol
- Deep relaxation, dropping the brain for the beta to theta waves in under 60 seconds
- Helps to balance both hemispheres of the brain
- Clears the body of stale, negative energy and emotions
- Balance the chakra system and re-energize the auric field
- Transformation & realignment on a cellular level, refreshing the body
- Stimulates circulation, endocrine glands and regulates hormones
- Increases vital energy flow, creativity, and taps into intuition
- Improves quality sleep
- Allows one to drop into higher states of consciousness
- Reduced “brain fog”, increase clarity & focus
Over the years, sound healing has also been used to treat a number of conditions including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, and dementia.
Gongs have been used as a form of sound healing since around 4,000 B.C. Now, they’re used in gong baths. This is a style of meditation where the practitioner creates different tones and patterns with the gongs to produce vibrations that work on the mind-body connection. Plus, it works fast.
“The gong has stronger vibrations and much richer sounds because of its size and structure,” says Lee. “The sound can put you in a deeply relaxed and meditative Theta state in as quickly as 60 to 90 seconds.”
Gong baths are great for clearing fears or emotional blocks and improving mental clarity, leaving you transformed on a physical as well as mental level.
“The sound wave passing through the body stimulates red blood cells, and opens up the blood supply to all organs and throughout the body,” adds Collard. “Gongs also stimulate the limbic system, forcing your muscles to relax. The sound of a gong is heard through the ears, passing through the auditory nerve, then the vagus nerve, stimulating every organ in the body. All your organs operate more effectively, especially your liver and kidneys. You wake to feel refreshed and invigorated.”
Singing bowls have been used in Tibetan culture since the 12th century. These metal bowls come in different sizes and each one produces a deep sound that relaxes and heals the mind. Because each bowl produces a unique vibration that works on separate parts of the brain, different-sized bowls are often used together. Of course, they can also work on different parts of the body. Bowls elicit a light dream state and can be placed on the body to promote healing.
“Vibrations move through the water in the body,” says Dr. Buathon Thienarrom, a Thai wellness practitioner who offers sound healing with Tibetan singing bowls. “When this happens, it helps stimulate circulation to allow muscle relaxation and improve lymphatic flow.” This particular type of sound healing has been found to reduce stress, anger, depression, and fatigue.
WELLBEING BY SOUND
While there are many types of sound healing, each one offers a host of benefits that can improve your wellbeing, energy levels, and performance at work. Think about what you want to get out of your sound healing experiences. This will help you pick some to try and, once you’ve experimented with a few, you’ll be able to decide exactly what form of sound therapy works best for you.
GIVING BACK TO DONORS
In response to your generosity, I would like to offer a complimentary sound healing session at Lotus Wellness Bangkok.
Once the amount and equipment have been received, I am happy to offer a sound healing session at your most convenient venue.
