I've made it to my senior year! I couldn't have done it without any of you, and I am deeply grateful for all of you!
I will be hosting my senior thesis show on April 24th, and I super excited, and all are invited to attend. I have recently switched my major from Fashion Design, to Individualized with Textiles and Fashion. My practice as of lately is on finding out a way to reduce waste, by turning old clothing into new fabric. If you guys are interested in knowing what I do, here is a link to my website: tashisdesign.com.
Although, going on my own is exciting, and a great adventure, it also means it makes I don't have access to the same studio as I have had in the past. This makes it hard to get my work done. I am going to be transforming my closet into a makeshift sewing studio, and I will be needing a few important pieces of equipment and materials. This is pretty timely, as I plan on continuing what I am doing after graduation, and hope to continue to do what I do after I graduate. I am also hoping to launch a brand in the near future, and I will be needing these things anyway.
I started the semester hoping to buy these things with my own money, but am having a hard time keeping myself financially stable. I am currently looking for funding this equipment. Anything helps, including small amounts, donations of these materials needed, and/or money for a hot meal. I will also take these things refurbished, or thrifted. Also donation of your unwanted clothing will help.
Here is the list of things needed below:
$300- Industrial Sewing Machine
$200- Overlock Machine (or to get mine fixed)
$50- Knitting Machine parts
$50- Drafting Table
$30- Bolt of Muslin Fabric
$50- Clothing Rack
For those who donate $20, send materials/ equipment on list, I will send you a hand dyed silk scarf in your favorite color.
Thank you so much for your time! Feel free to message me with any questions!
