I have had epilepsy for the past 17 years which has continued to get worse despite taking various different medications including Lamotrigine, Epilem and Zonisamide. I am now at the point where I need an Epilepsy Response Dog to ensure my safety when I go out. I have tried applying to several charities and with the high demand for Epilepsy Response Dogs, will have to wait years before possibly getting one. I have been advised that the only alternative is to pay for a puppy to be trained as an Epilepsy Response Dog but unfortunately, I do not have the money to do this. It costs several thousand pounds for the training.
