Epilepsy Awareness

I am raising money to go towards helping raise epilepsy awareness in my state and more importantly my city. My daughter has had epilepsy since she was 8 months old. She has been luckyenough  to have the seizures mainly under control through medications. Medications that wouldnt be possible if it wasn't for money for the development and research of epilepsy. Money for research and development of drugs comes mainly from the mere awareness of the condition itself.

Historically Epilepsy research has been underfunded. Each year billions and billions of dollars are used for medical research with only about 1/2 of 1% spent on epilepsy.

Epilepsy affects more people than Multiple Sclerosis,Cerebral Palsy,Muscular Dystrophy,and Parkinsons Combined.

Epilepsy is almost as common as breast cancer and takes as many lives.

Our heroic soldiers serving overseas have been known to suffer from epilepsy due to a traumatic brain injury they sustained in combat.

Epilepsy is a stealthy disease, meaning that it affects so many but is virtually unheard of to most Americans. Help me change that in my city and state. Hopefully in time word and funding will spread and the disease will eventually be divided and conquered once and for all.
