Hi Everyone,

We are currently knocking on your hearts to help us sustain the hospital finances of our little boy Lorenzo Sebastien Iñigo Z. Castro- "Baby Enzo".

He was born prematurely on February 20th, 11:38PM at Pacific Global Medical Center. It was an emergency C-Section since I was having episodes of Pre-Eclampsia and we wouldn't want to risk both of our lives. Upon delivery, he was already immediately rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Unit (NICU) of the hospital since he was already turning purple and really lack oxygen. He was then declared well. After about an hour, the doctor was able to stabilise him but was using a nasal cannula.

The doctors informed my husband that my son was indeed fighting to breathe on his own and may have problems, so tests were ordered. True enough, after tests were done, he was immediately referred to a Neonatologist - Specialist for Newborns plus a cardio-pediatrician, and we then knew that he had multiple problems.... He was diagnosed having Severe Bilateral Pneumonia and Immature lungs with cardiac problems: Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) - extra artery causing complications and patent foramen ovale(PFO) - whole in the heart.

Having said this, His current hospital bill is already at Php 800,000.00 ($16000) and still counting - without Dotors' fees yet... He consumed a lot of Oxygen and Compressed air Tanks needed for the Ventilator which breathes for him for about a week; Multiple 2D examinations were done to monitor his cardiac problems; Multiple Xrays and Blood Tests and Numerous Equipments were used in keeping him alive.

As of right now, our little boy is already extubated and is showing signs of improvements however still undergoing medications since antibiotics given were not giving best results and cardiac problem is still persistent. Doctors said that they are finishing current medications, then repeat examination and then change coarse of action...

My husband and I were truly devastated when we first knew of my son's condition but we knew we had to fight as he is really fighting hard. We don't want to lose another kid, we don't want to burden other people with what we are going through but we have already reached the end of the line wherein we spent every penny of our savings, sold our car and reached out to our family members and asked for government officials..

We are hopeful, that you would be able to help us go through this... Any form of help will be much appreciated.

Above all this, we ask for your help to include my son in your prayers for his fast recovery so we can take him home soon as we believe prayer is the most powerful thing that we could do right now.

Thank you for being a part of our journey!
