My company, Yanna Group Pty Ltd, is a 100% black female owned company in South Africa. My primary focus is to assist entrepreneurs to set up and drive their business forward with the aim of achieving success in their respective industries.

I have surveyed numerous business owners, with feasible businesses, and all have mentioned that marketing is their weakness. On a monthly basis , the main objective of these entrepreneurs is to support their families and ensure that their income is sufficient to be able to do that.

Therefore, their vision is short term and attention is not given to the long term which would enable them to grow their businesses, with the proper focus and strategy.

Each case is unique and the approach is different depending on the business owner's situation as well as desire. However, the main objective is to achieve growth in the business.

My company supports these hardworking individuals by marketing their products/services locally and internationally, and offering business advice. In return, I agree, with the business owner, a certain percentage of sales, which translates to a mutual goal of growing the business.

At the moment, I am currently working with furniture manufacturers, leather goods manufacturers, landscape designers, electricians, and telecoms service providers, to name a few. My aim is to attract more hard working entrepreneurs and be involved in their businesses, strategically, to generate revenues across various industry sectors and, more importantly empower the entrepreneurs to build confidence and increase entrepreneurship in South Africa.

For all those who wish to be involved, partnerships and or shareholding can be discussed in return for your investment and/or expertise.

As a final point, you would be surprised how many skilled people there are who have the ability to operate their own businesses but have fear of the unknown or perceive the transformation as a 'risk'. We need to engage with these people to support them and empower them as well as share that risk to enable them to blossom in their future.

While the government offers a multitude of incentives, this is usually directed towards existing businesses that have a proven track record and the paperwork required for loans or funding is daunting to say the least. There is a gap that exists between start up phase and creating a proven track record - this is where we lose entrepreneurs.
