English Teaching Kenya with PMGY.

Im going to Kenya in July for 3 weeks to volunteer teaching English to children aged 6-13.  Almost a quarter of the Kenyan population is living under the poverty line and this makes education really important for these people. Without a good level of English, these young people will not succeed at school and will find it extrememly difficult to get a job without a good knowledge of English. A lot of the schools are over crowded and have limited resources. I will be working alongside the local teacher, as well as teaching lessons myself including English, as well as Maths.

We are very fortunate in our country in that we all have the right and the chance to recieve a good education and we somewhat, take it for granted. These children may not be given the oppurtunity for an education that they so badly want, without help from the Western world.

The money raised will go towards the programme fee which includes accomodation, resources, food and in-country support!
