Now I am a single parent of two daughters. I started this school so my daughters could learn English. It was my dream. When they were 4 and 6 I started worrying that it could be to late for them, but that made me want to work extra hard. I knew an American organisation (ILP) that could help me. Soon enough, a group of volunteers were in Lithuania to help me.
I found a place for the teachers to live in andstarted renting few classrooms for my school. I was working really hard for this to work giving out flyers, putting ads on my car. We started with only 25 pupils, now we have 70 in Vilnius, 29 in Kaunas, and 47 in Klaipeda. But the cost of living went up since Lithuania became a part of EU, and we are having a hard time with that. We need to pay for visas, utility bills, rent, food for our teachers, and on, and on, and on... Very few families can afford it now. After 8 years of financial struggling we still balancing between "to be or not to be".
Our students are kids from 3 years old. Our program lets us teach them till they are 12 year old. Our school gives kids an opportunity to change their lives and change their country for better.Any financial help will be welcomed.
