So, what exactly is Micromobility?

Micromobility vehicles (i.e. e-scooters & e-bikes) are the future of urban transportation. In urban cities, multiple companies have launched e-scooters, e-bicycles, and other vehicles to help consumers traverse the city more efficiently. When people lack convenient transportation they may opt to not travel, forgoing job opportunities, access to healthy food and even preventative medical care.

Micromobility offers an immediate solution to address these concerns. The mass adoption of mircomobility vehicles has however been restrained by current charging times (typical 4-7 hours to go from 0 -100% charged). The ability to supercharge mircomobility vehicles with clean energy significantly increases the adoption and use of Micromobility vehicles by improving their efficiency by more than 70% with a 0% carbon neutral effect. Our project focuses on harnessing solar energy to supercharge these vehicles in less than 30 minutes.

Basis of Funding request:

The majority of our funding raised ($1k) will be allocated to funding a stipend for two high-school students to participate in Georgia Tech's R.E.A.L. (Research, Experiment, Analyze, Learn) summer program.

The balance of our budget ($500) will be used to purchase materials for our student-researchers.

Our Immediate Goals:

The immediate goals of our project are two-fold:

First, we will develop a solar powered supercharger with the capacity to charge mircomobility vehicles in less than 30 minutes, thereby solving current charging limitations restricting the adoption of this safe, clean and affordable means of transportation.

Simultaneously we will support the academic development and curiosity of two high-school students in an underrepresented population in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education with hopes of them pursing a STEM career in post-secondary education.

Other Ways You Can Help:

No contribution is too small. Even if you cannot donate that doesn't mean you can't help. Here are a few ways you can still support our effort:

  • Spread the word and make some noise about our project.
  • Forward this campaign to your network and personally asked that they support us!
