Emily Stausbøll will be attempting to swim 58 km (36 miles) on Saturday 18 June in the Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test (ENDWET). This is a down-river swim ultra-marathon in the mighty Red River of the North. It is the longest swim race in North America!

Through your sponsorship, she will be raising money for research into childrens' cancers by supporting Wardies Way (which has raised over €100,000 since its creation in 2014). Wardies Way specifically supports two specialist research organisations The Belgian Society of Paediatric Haematology Oncology and the North of England Childrens' Cancer Research www.neccr.org.uk.

Since the beginning of the year, Emily has swum over 900km in training. What's more, this is the second time she has completed a training programme for this event. The first time was in 2020, when her efforts were unrewarded as ENDWET was cancelled that year, due to the COVID19 pandemic!

Emily's support paddler will be her American cousin Ursula Hermacinski. Ursi's sister, Mary Jo, will also be a support paddler for another swimmer. So this is a real family affair!!

Previously Emily's longest swim race has been the Vidöstern 21km in Sweden.
