End of Life Assistance

Update posted by Sherryl Bergkvist On Mar 25, 2016

Finally made it to my daughters place about a month ago. Got a room painted and donations of bed, some bedding and a desk, and it is starting to look like home. I am grateful to everyone that has helped to get me here this far. We now have to get my Canadian status back and try and get financial assistance. With the loss of my wallet with my Canadian ID many years ago, this is problematic but we hope to have it solved before I pass on. We are hoping for more donations to help pay for end of life costs, hospital trips, phoenix tears, pharmacy costs, etc. Thank you to all of you. and may the God of your Understanding embrace you and bless you.

Thank you, Everyone, for all your kindness and generosity in donating. My Son and I have safely made it safely to Canada, but there's still more road to travel and expenses coming. Right now I'm staying with my Niece and her husband and their children, temporarily, until i have the money/energy to keep going. We need to make it to Vancouver Island and pay for accommodations, etc. I'm so happy to say that Jordan did get a job but he doesn't start till next week then it will be another two weeks until he get his first check, Until then any and all donations are very welcome. Again, thank you, Everyone! We couldn't have made it here without you!

Hi, Sherryl. We met at your daughter's wedding (You probably don't remember me, but I took the wedding photos). I was so sorry to hear you are ill, Sherryl. I had a friend with pancreatic cancer who lived over 12 years beyond the six months the doctors initially gave her. So stay strong, stay hopeful. We'll do our best to get you home. It sounds like you are really due some good luck for once.

Pam, I have my American I.D. None of that is a problem. I am not eligible for Social Security as that is all based on the amount of money you have earned in your lifetime and I have not worked in the U.S. for long enough. I can apply for my Canadian social Insurance when I get home. I still have to fight for my status, but with the help of my children and friends, and long work record, I know we will eventually get that all lined up. Love you Pamela Brown, dear cousin, and to Lori Lewis, thank you so much for your help.
