Rights activists & leftists-communists only begun to speak up, & loud enough after Duterte begun to be less accommodating of their special interests & ordered re-arrest of their freed leaders.We remain helpless, and without safe access to legal and practical remedies.

We helplessly suffered from a series of injustices -- threats to our lives, human rights violations & torture -- now seeking your help of money for our relocation to relative safety, numerous medical needs, basic legal services, gathering of evidences, claiming of our scattered personal belongings & funds to finance the ongoing new phase of our campaign against the state-organized & sponsored program of extra-judicial killings that now claimed plausibly more than 20,000 victims, double that of the deaths in the war & strife-torn Yemen but Filipinos & institutions here have seem oblivious about. Long Before Duterte Was Nationally Known & Became a Viable Candidate for President, Long Before He Destroyed Tens of Thousands of Poor Families & Institutions of this Poor Society, Working Eversince to Help Stop Duterte's Program of Kill-for-Money-&-Political-Gains in His Efforts to Exercise Dictatorial Powers & to Threaten Auditors & Dissenters

We fought the idea of Duterte becoming a viable candidate long before he became the leading presidential candidate, and we fought his program of killings all throughout in our own unique and very secret ways: We labored to help enlighten the international civil society figures about Duterte & gang's political motives that underpin their intent to carry out the killings, more than their claim of conducting a so-called war on drugs, some operations in the in trade in illicit drugs being masterminded by some of those close to him or his family.

Long before his son was tagged as a beneficiary in the clearing of shipments & releasing of huge quantities of illegal drugs being smuggled from China to the Philippines, we already knew of Duterte's main motives and intent. It was never an intent to eradicate drugs, but to use the program of killings in the name of so-called war on drugs for material and political gains having lived on & off in Duterte's city & home region for years since 2014. We knew that they had connections in the bad elements in the dark underworld of southern Mindanao.

We're Personally Paying An Immense Price for Fighting Monstrosities On Our Own - Please Help Save Us, Please Donate & Ask Friends & Relatives for Us Too

We now endure continuing hardships, frequent instances of being in hunger for several days, taking a mix-match of over-the-counter drugs when sick even when very sick (like a recent long bout of flu), uncertainty on our lives, known and unknown threats (police units can be under pressure to produce a number of killings in their jurisdiction and we are now vulnerable being good targets in a city where we are not permanent residents and the city in Mindanao being still plagued by drugs, Mindanao being where Duterte hailed and where his family is based, though the super-region is mostly being spared in the killings relative to the extent of the drug trade that continue to flourish nevertheless the coming elections in less than a year makes local officials prefer targets who are not local voters).

We Face Great Uncertainties About Our Lives - Safety, Security, Freedom & Survival & We're Helpless

We are under constant fear for our lives, regardless of our resilience and being so used to living in very dangerous contexts and situations. We intently cut ourselves off from our relatives and past social circles. We can't avail of government social services without inviting even more dangers to our lives & feared unforeseen consequences. Our efforts to get simple material help though it lightened a bit some of our burdens for some days, also resulted in harassments, acts of shaming & humiliation, threats, physical dangers - many of it adding to our traumas and destroying our sense of dignity for some time.

We did our advocacy campaigns by ourselves because we didn't want our causes diluted with the political agendas of civil society and leftist groups here (many of them approved of Duterte or were relatively very silent even on extra-judicial killings and his abuses of power until this present government begun to crack down on their leaders again, after having released many of them from jail for accusations of serios crimes and rebellion, the communist party & movement being illegal in the country).

We also refrained from getting support for our causes and our persons from among civil society groups and government officials ( a few we're supposed to have good access to) because we stand firm on our stand against what they give consent to Duterte & their public expressions of support for him and his policies), and many of them are raking in kickbacks and lucrative transactions being under the grace of the president and his family and for them to detect what we do could add even more dangers to our lives.

Who Are We? Simple Private Citizens, Wanted Dead by Monstrous Criminals

I am Ernest Barraquias Jr., and with Rian Igos we are doing this fundraising campaign as a matter of last resort in spite of this undertaking extremely dangerous for us for obvious and not obvious reasons. We are desperate now and for so many times already, helpless, crying in the dark. We spent a great deal of our intermittent income to finance our discreet advocacy campaigns to inform those who can make a difference (who can save lives) in the lives of millions of poor Filipinos. I did some crusading work against seized-drugs recycling in the country in the past, but now focused on helping those who can stop Duterte in his murderous rampage to use extra-judicial killings in the name of the so-called war on drugs since he rose to power in mid-2016.

We hope that you would understand if we can't futher elaborate on our situation, the work that we do, how and where we are to use to money we are raising (we spent personal resources, exerted efforts, labored, used our talents and skills to advance our causes, spent time that should now costs tens of thousands of dollars). We let go of lucrative opportunities to be near the close circles of the president because that called for our silence and support of Duterte's family and their pursued policies. In the past I was a successful young businessman whose life went into a downward spiral after suffering injustices from the acts of a religious man, father of a former business partner.

Leakage of this fundraising campaign in the Philippines and to any single Filipino can mean death to us or complete loss of our freedom. Our online, blog posts are for a range of objectives and our pronouncements there are not necessarily reflective of our personal opinions and stand on issues. We obscure our intentions and stand on issues in our Facebook and blog posts.

We live and do secret advocacy work in a long-term socio-political context that is not conducive to open campaigning for some of our causes (for it to have some impact and to be effective), and under Duterte's government and amidst the on-going extra-judicial killings most civil society figures and public officials are susceptible to his threats partly because like him almost all of them are very corrupt in this severely corrupt society. We Don't Get Anything That Others -- Fire Victims, Drug Dealers, Criminals, Victims of Natural & Man-Induced Calamities, Armed Conflicts -- Routinely Get

In the aftermath of a human-induced calamity that happened in the conflict in Marawi City, Mindanao, Philippines, there was a rush and intense efforts and campaign by both the civil society groups and the government to take care of the victims and those displaced by the brief "war". They did not ask whether or not beneficiaries were supporters of the alleged extremists who allegedly tried to establish a caliphate in the Muslim city, are accused or suspected criminals, used and or sold drugs (the drug trade was most prevalent in the city in all of the Philippines but the city spared by Duterte in his so-called war on drugs for fear of rebel and other violent groups wreaking havoc in the rest of Mindanao and his home region of Davao) - they were just given all kinds of aids, assistances, cash grants, material donations, commitments of money to rebuild their houses and communities and the city itself. This is the right thing to do, of course.

Victims of natural disasters, all too common in the Philippines (typhoons, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes) and human-induced disasters that include displacements of thousands of people - they get all kinds of emergency aids, assistances, life-saving efforts from the government and NGOs. They get emergency loans, expedited releases of usual benefits, food and shelter. The victims complain about many things, and they get positive responses from the government in most of the time.

Monstrous Crime Lords, Big-time Thieves, Duterte's Allies & Foes Alike, Enjoy Impunity Here & Routinely Granted Privileges In North America and Europe

There are more than 100,000 public officials (elected and appointed officials, law enforcement officials from village to regional administrative units) who regularly get bribes from acts of corruption and from organized crime operations including trade in illegal drugs and grassroots-based illigal gambling each generates illicit money in the amount of at least $6 billion a year - they, as will as severely corrupt officials and their families (one and the same in many instances) enjoy privileges in the affluent countries of the West.

They enjoy impunity here, and they have good access to premium legal services, and practically can control the mechanisms of the justice system. They can order the murder or assassination of those who get in their way or are competition to them. Whether they commit rape of minors, or steal chunks of development and social funds and even donated funds for calamities and for the poor - they routinely get away with it and they and their families enjoy their lives in the West.

What About Us? We're Constricted & In A Constricted Socio-Political Situation

What about us? We are cut-off from all of the benefits that they feel entitled to and are getting or being granted. And we don't have anyone to call in an immediate danger and emergency. We could have died in so many instances of being in danger, and as we contend with extremely challenging situations. Yet we remain helpless. You can help change our lives, and help save us. We do think that there are extra-ordinary individuals who acted in secret to help shield us from hostile acts of some elements in the Duterte government, spare us from murder & let us be mobile, and we can't thank them enough, but we also need but we also need practical help that even drug lords in this country, both with or hostile to Duterte and his family, enjoy.

In countless of times, I have cried in the dark. We indured what to ordinary folks -- and we're ordinary citizens-- were unbearable hostile or dangerous situations. There were times when i would feel envy to those victims of this and that and they even get professional counselling. We suffered more traumas that 99%+ of the population would never ever suffer from, and we remain helpless and trapped in our situation. We suffered something, after we were set up and in danger of being murdered, that I think could have scarred my brain and we never had enough to have a basic brain scan (for other medical needs too).The perpetrator must be bent on getting us murdered before we can make a formal complaint if making a formal complaint is at all feasible for us, as this person is a relative of a powerful key official close to the Duterte family.

Who Would Be Happy If We Finally Get Murdered, or Fade & Subtly Perish or Murdered by Slow Poisoning or Subtle Constrictio of Socio-political, Economic, Physical Space & Looming Serious Threats from the Likes of Organized Police Criminals to Duterte's Operatives & Ignorant Fanatics

- Drug lords, organized crime lords and participants in big crime ventures including personalities who give benefits, bribe money, socio-political space and direct material support to terror groups based in southern Philippines who victimized mostly Western nationals

- The severely corrupt local and regional political dynasties who partition among themselves chunks of government budget (including for social & developmental programs) worth a total of billions of US dollars a year. The kind of severe corruption that plagues the Philippines for decades now and much more in this Duterte government help trap millions of families in the cycle of poverty, roots of insurgency and even make this country susceptible to the direct undermining of its national interests by China

- Some high ranking police officials who benefit from or even control the drug trade and other organized crime ventures in parts of the country. Duterte empowered and emboldened thousands of already corrupt crooks from among police officers, making many of them guilty of acts of murder and massacre not necessarily of serious criminals but whoever are disposable and less indispensable to their criminal activities

- Some elected officials who hate the mere idea of Rian and I living or temporarily staying in their areas of governance, exposing the organized crime ventures they either mastermind or protect to our eyes (their acts are rather ubiquitous, to their constituents, but we can analyze things and give information to relevant bodies or entities that they're not in control of and that they can't easily threaten us into silence)

- Many of those who committed acts of injustices against me and us, including torture, and the demonstrated tendencies of these personalities mean that they can continue to exercise their powers whenever they feel the need to oppress people or threaten those who they think can pose risks to their illegal and corrupt acts and practices
