Hello Doomsayer,

Do you believe that:

  • molten rocks will be showering on all living beings in 3 weeks time?
  • That the whole surface of the Earth is going to be flooded shortly?
  • Are you an advocate of a massive solar flare engulfing our planet or you simply think that it will just “be gone”?

Are you trying to convince your friends or family that any of the above is true? Why not show them how certain you are with a donation?

What else could express the validity of your arguments better than financial commitment?

If you are a firm believer that the world will come to an abrupt end in a couple of weeks anyway then why not make a contribution to my fund to just show your commitment to your beliefs?

You donate me a couple of dollars/pounds/euros and I can buy my daughter a bicycle or my son a piano. Maybe even replace my tatty old Nikon to something that is more state of the art and capture all the smiles of my kids.

If we all go down together you will be remembered as a last minute hero.

If we stay alive? Who knows, you might have sponsored the next Mozart or Olympic cyclist. I would spend a lot of money to turn our lives around: pay towards the mortgage and set up a fund for my kids’ future education.

If you are out there being 100% sure that the world is going to end on the 21st then why not give some or all of your money to us? It won`t matter to you in a couple of weeks anyway will it? However you can buy my family some smiles.

You certainly will buy one for me. One huge smile for every single donation made J

FAQ:

Is this a scam?

No, a scam would be dishonest; it would trick you out of your pocket making you believe that you are getting something in exchange for your money that you later do not get. This is not the situation here, as I am not offering anything in exchange. You are absolutely not getting anything else back and there are no refunds either. Please bear this in mind before you donate.

What happens if the world does not end on the 21st, will I get my money back?

Absolutely... not, I will put the money in the family fund spending it on (In this order): 2 cups of coffee, girl`s bicycle, piano, new Nikon, mortgage, kids` education.

Wouldn`t it be easier to just burn my banknotes?

Maybe it would but destroying bank notes is illegal in many countries and I would certainly not recommend it. Adhering to the law is very important, even at the last minute. Also think about CO2 emissions! Would you not want to hug a polar bear instead (some say its dangerous so I would not endorse it)?

Is this just a prank/joke/fun?

Maybe, but the donate button is real and if you submit your donation it will come from real hard earned cash from your account. Try it maybe and we both will have a good laugh (I certainly will) J

If the world doesn`t end on the 21st, will you reinvest the money to make the world a better place?

Yes I will... in a way. Here are some items from my shopping list and how they could affect the world (or at least some part of it):

2 cups of coffee – sleep deprivation makes me a grumpy person but coffee is my antidote. Let’s have 2 just to make sure. After my caffeine dose I am ready to hand out all the smiles to the people I meet.

Girl`s bicycle – This is for my daughter Maya (her name can`t be a coincidence). If she gets a new bike I will ask her if she wants to be an Olympic cyclist or not. If she says yes and ultimately becomes one: we will inspire future generations together. If she says no we will just have tea and a laugh.

Piano – This is for my son but will be a centerpiece of our family life. I would like him to surpass his parents in composing and playing a musical instrument (any instrument really). My wife and I are stone-deaf when it comes to reproducing music you see, but our son could become a great pianist for many people to enjoy his art.

What about the good deeds? What will you do for every $1000 donated?

I really don`t know yet but I am sure that I will put all my heart into it. I was thinking that I could maybe cook a great meal from the homeless and serve it from Matilda (our industrial size stockpot, so big that she has her own name) or maybe help pensioners with their errands – maybe take time off and write a book to help others with some of the skills I have (I have to have some...)

Yours sincerely

Gus

PS.: If you don`t believe that our world is going to end and took the effort to read this far: I hope you had a good time, don`t forget t share!:)
