Empowering Women Through Art

“Uplifting art, enriching lives”- Although only a four word phrase, it is more than enough to elucidate the activities carried out by Kapra.

Kapra, as a social venture, aims to provide employment opportunities to the women of the Mithila region of Nepal who are born with the unique skill of being able to incorporate their conceptualization of everyday life into intricate pieces of art. Our primary concern is to alleviate the poor economic conditions of the hundreds of families that reside in the Mithila region, and hopefully help them escape their poverty.

Our Actual need is $200, With the $200 we are raising, we aim to run a small training program in a village so that they can learn painting ito various products rather then the typical wall painting they are used to. This small training can bring a big impact in their lives as they can find a way to improve their livelihoods by panting into sellable items and hence selling it.
