Campaign Story
I am an ordinary Singaporean girl who hopes to help better the lives of refugee women from Sze Women of Hope (https://szewomenofhope.com/). All proceeds will go to this incredible organisation, which helps to empower women by giving them a sustainable source of income through training in heritage crafts. Sze Women of Hope is a social enterprise advocating for change through connecting artisans to knowledge, experience and resources to earn a sustainable wage from their work with a focus on women’s empowerment and the protection of human rights in production. They provide education and vocational training to more than 100 women at risk ranging from women refugees, single mothers and the indigenous people in Malaysia, with a mission to provide them a self-sustaining income from the produce of artisanal crafts. They work with the UNHCR as well.
Through this fund raising campaign, I hope to raise enough funds to be able to set up booths at bazaars, flea markets to sell the artisan products handmade by these wonderful women, from Sze Women of Hope. This will instill a sense of confidence and empowerment in these women. All proceeds will go to this organisation. On average, SGD$100 enables us to book a booth at a market place or bazaar for a day.
