I am a Danish citizen and have been a caregiver to my best friend, soulmate and brother for the past 9 Years watching him struggling with Panic Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depression and Sex Addictions due to being sexually and psychologically abused consistently since childhood. Panic Attack is a Manifestation of Overwhelming fear. His overwhelming fear is not to hurt his own body by controlling his dangerous mind of addiction to pain of being abused. Thus, from panic attacks, it led to Panic Disorder, severe anxieties, Depression, Social Anxiety and Isolation.

Suicide can happen to any mental health survivors just because someone said something that crashes the fighter into Suicide, where all the years of fighting suddenly gone wasted just because someone decided not to understand. If you would have watched Lady Gaga’s movie, “A Star is Born“, that is exactly the message of setting up this Foundation to encourage survivors not to allow anyone take away their battle with words that hurts.

Most mental health fighters are actually born geniuses, They work hard to recover day by day, despite being in darkness almost all the time. Most people would think, that what helps themselves as a solution, and then thinking the same solutions can help survivors of mental health issues, without identifying and attain a deeper understanding of the different elements that actually can help.

Thus, mental survivors suffer even more because they are not taken seriously about what helps as a good distraction to move forward.

I write this message in the hope to create a Non-Profit Organization based in Denmark to create awareness of mental health, both to family members and friends, and about the importance of keeping the people who chose to be strong, remains strong.

When it comes to physical ailments, people immediately understand the dos and donts, what to avoid and what can help and be so careful in taking care of their loved ones, who have physical ailments.

What about mental health? It is a complex situation where it is not about seeing the ailments, it is about understanding the mental health predicaments. Instead, most survivors are left alone when they are strong and worst, left in the dark tunnel when down.

I have come to a realisation that there is a desperate need to set up a Non-profit Organization to be registered as “The Holdegaard Foundation” in Denmark, (and over time be able to help people all over the world, with different programs and ways of communication).

The Objective of this foundation is to empower survivors when they feel alone with free counselling for them to be able in expressing themselves, in a safe and holistic environment and help them to remain strong.

“With the right people around you, recovery is closer than you could ever imagine, never give up” The Foundations facilities, will give mental health survivors, thru their recovery process, the opportunity, to “pay it forward”by helping other mental health survivors, in their process of recovery “What never kill you, makes you stronger”

We welcome the public and Philanthropists support to provide us a platform kickstart and sustain this organization. We appreciate and thank everyone who donate in advance. As we are sufficiently funded to set up the facilities, more updates shall be added to the website.
