Campaign Story
COVID-19 has turned the education industry on its head.
Many companies have stepped up and offered low-cost solutions to schools and although education institutes have been spoilt for choice when it comes to technology – EdTech, in most cases, is still failing.
Most courses are still being delivered using video conferencing systems and this has resulted in low quality courses being delivered online and schools seeing a drop in enrollment rates worldwide.
Moreover, this has also resulted in increasing video fatigue for both students and teachers, thus affecting their well-being.
The new norm requires teachers to not just teach, but also be great instructional designers and the first level of tech support providers to their students. Many have never learnt anything online, let alone teach - and it’s this lack of skills that scares teachers away from technology and allows for online education to fail.
"Technology is nothing. It's not the tools that you have faith in -
tools are just tools. They work, or they don't work.
It's people you have faith in or not."
- Steve Jobs
We are Akadasia, a Singapore-based mission driven business that aims to democratize education by empowering teachers in 3 ways:
We help teachers develop new teaching skills, we provide teachers with authoring tools that allow them to create engaging online content easily & quickly and we provide teachers with a platform they can use to distribute their lessons to their learners for free.
We do this through FREEJOO that comes in two variants. FREEJOO STUDIO, an authoring platform to design great engaging content and FREEJOO, a content distribution platform.
We also provide teachers with several up-skilling programs that enable them to learn by doing and therein to become 21st century teachers.
We’re looking to EMPOWER 30,000 educators
by providing them with the skills and technology
needed to deliver effective online lessons,
which in turn will ENABLE the teachers to provide
free online lessons to more than 3,000,000 learners!
We would appreciate it if you could help support our efforts.
For just 20 Singapore Dollars (SGD$20), you can sponsor a Teacher Support Pack that includes:
- Lifetime access to our learning management platform (FREEJOO) for 100 students
- Lifetime access to our learning management platform (FREEJOO) for 1 teacher
- 2 up-skilling programs for 1 teacher
- 5 FREEJOO Class Passes
- Certificate of Completion
