Campaign Story
Sometimes you wake up and complain about going to work, complain about traffic, complain complain complain in your very comfortable ‘world’, yet you don’t realise just how extremely fortunate you are!
Some people don’t have a place to call home, they don’t have parents, they can’t find jobs, they don’t have a car and some basic day-to-day needs is just not within their reach. In South Africa this is not uncommon.
South Africa is a country where the unemployment rate at 26.6%, extreme poverty rate of 20.2% and moderate poverty rate of 45.5% are quite high.
People have tough tough lives, not only living in poverty but crime rates are high as well and life in general is just not as easy going.
*** Rusia is a young, vibrant, tiny lady from Ondangwa in Namibia now living in Cape Town South Africa with a GIANT HEART and bubbly personality even if her life is not always that easy ***
Rusia and her children have been through unfortunate life experiences, of which some of us will only see on disturbing TV shows/movies.
Currently Rusia is living in shared accommodation with her two biological children (Miriam 9 and Malakai 11) and two foster orphan children (Kesha 3 and Princess 17), and days are tough. Her hard earned small income would be used to buy food where the other tenants would simply just make use of her family’s food and when the food is gone, there is no extra money to purchase more.
Rusia started qualifying to be an elderly caretaker/nurse but with difficult personal circumstances getting in the way she had to find any job and started working as a domestic worker for 2.5 days a week earning a very small income.
A local South African domestic worker earn as little as £15.00 for a full day’s work (that is approx. £1.9 for one hour), with her current employment she takes home approx. £150 for the month, however she still needs to pay taxi fare on top of this and at times when there are family needs she needs to tend to as a single parent she can’t get to work.
HELP US RAISE MONEY TO SUPPORT RUSIA AND HER BEAUTIFUL FAMILY TO
- Afford a home of their own where Rusia can continue the wonderful work she is doing by giving orphans a place to call home. A new home big enough for her family will only cost about £1,200 where she lives
- Give Rusia the opportunity to complete her qualification to become an elderly caretaker/nurse. The qualification fee will only be about £1,200
- Save towards her children's education
We are confident that we can raise this amount for Rusia to help her become and educated professional, empowered to build a more solid and brighter future for her family and especially so she can save towards her children’s education. Miriam already told her mommy she really wants to be a Doctor one day.
Give the gift of love and charity this Christmas! A gift to show you care for the ones struggling, for the orphans. A gift to empower local African women.
Thank you
