Hi all, most of you wont know my dog Emma and wont know what she's been through the last couple of weeks., those of you that do know me, Emma and Sophie, know that my dogs are my life and id do anything for them.

She is a 6 year old Dogue de Bordeaux, I have had her from 12 weeks old , along with her sister Sophie the Bulldog X. She is a very active dog and loves to run and play and generally cause mischief. :)

Unfortunately she collapsed while i was at work, was unable to get back up and was in a lot of pain. I took her staright to the vets to be told she has possibly suffered a prolapsed disc. She went straight into hospital for an MRI scan and they confirmed that she had a prolapsed disc at the top of her spine and alot of swelling, she required urgent surgery in order to save her life. There was no thinking to be done, i wanted my girl home and well so off to surgery she went. She was in surgery for 6 hours. Thankfully it was very successful and she returned home to me four days later, much to mine and Sophie's excitement. She is on a strict routine, no running, jumping, playing, anything that causes too much movement. At the minute shes climbing the walls as she is really missing her walk and really wants to play with her sister.

What i didnt expect was for my insurance company to reject the insurance claim under grounds that spinal injuries are not covered under my particular policy and its written in the small print. I checked this and while it doesnt specifically state spinal injuries are not covers, it list things that are, everything but! They wont pay a penny. Im setting up this page to reach out to other animal lovers and hopefully help raise some money towards the £3300 vets bill i currently owe.

I live on my own with my dogs and dont have this sort of money to hand which is why I took out insurance. I pay £24 a month on an insurance policy that isnt worth the paper its written on. I should have put that money away into a seperate bank account but of course when you take out insurance you believe you are covered no matter what the accident/illness category.

Any donation is greatly received and i cant thank you enough in advance.

Emma and Vicky
