"Having been found at a location where countless dogs bodies were discovered and buildings were left in squalid conditions we can only guess at what these 4 puppies have been through and seen - but whatever the reason for their trouble these puppies were in desperate need a second CHANCE"

They were 4 weeks old, and still needed to be bottle fed day and night with puppy milk. Riddled with worms, covered in fleas and suspected to have been exposed to parvo virus and possibly distemper. One of the puppies had problems with its hips and had to have a very costly operation on its legs - Bruce is now waiting for his forever home...

You might think this is a one off, but this is an all too common occurance and poor Bruces operation depleted our already low reserves.. Since then we've had broken legs, gouged eyes, a couple of dogs needing extensive blood tests on top of which we still have the day to day costs of feeding and parasite treatments for each dog we have in our care until they're homed. We now urgently need to raise at least £2500 to help cover our mounting vets bills.

It costs roughly £350 to get a dog up to speed with all it's vaccinations, have the relevant parasite treatments, get spayed or neutered, chipped, tested for diseases, get all their documents (i.e. passport) on top of which we need to feed them and house them until they are ready for their new homes. So every penny counts, and (as we are entirely run by volunteers!) every penny will go directly to their care!

If we are lucky enough to overshoot our fundraising target, extra funds will be held in reserve for the treatment and care of our next rescues.

Thank you so much in advance for your generosity!

The puppies are doing well

Update posted by CHANCE Animal Rescue at 04:26 pm

So... it's been a busy couple of weeks. Puppy season is certainly making itself known at the moment! In addition to the 4 puppies this fund was originally set up for, we've had one more turn up at our foster home "Tom" and currently have 2 more in a temporary. . . . .
