Dear all,

I am Sabita but upon learning of his Leukemia diagnosis llasl september 25, 2018, we decided to postpone our wedding so we can concentrate on his treatment and recovery. All our wedding savings have now been used up for his intensive chemotherapy treatments and medication.

Since Philadelphia + Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ ALL) is an aggressive and a life-threatening disease, doctors has advised him to undergo intensive induction chemotherapy and he had his first chemo session last July 30, 2018. Ever since then, he has been going through all the chemotherapy treatments. After his induction chemotherapy, his blood work and bone marrow biopsy showed very positive results—complete remission, meaning 0% Leukemia cells are left in his blood and bone marrow (thank you Lord). He is now undergoing the 2nd phase, which is consolidation chemotherapy. (He has had about 25 sessions since his first chemo.)

As each day goes by, I am amazed and in awe of how positive and brave Ryan is throughout his treatment. There are times when he feels weak, tired, and about to give up but what keeps him going is his faith and trust in the Lord that everything will work out in the end. I honestly don't know where he finds the strength and courage to fight this everyday battle and I truly admire him for it.

He has always been the brave and independent one, the breadwinner of his family, and now cannot support them as he is unable to work during this time. I admire him that he is still able to smile and persevere despite the many difficulties he has to endure during his chemotherapy.

After his induction and consolidation chemo, his doctors advised him that he needs to have a bone marrow transplant to assure that his cancer will not come back. If Ryan is able to have the bone marrow transplant, the chances of the cancer not coming back is about 70 to 80%, which is a very good prognosis for his aggressive type cancer.

The costs of a bone marrow transplant is very steep, around Php 2 million to Php 2.5 million for the treatment and medicines needed. He also needs to stay in the hospital for a month as it is a very critical time for his health. We also hope that his body will not reject the bone marrow from his donor. We have already asked helped from local government agencies like PCSO, but it is unfortunately not enough to fund his bone marrow transplant.

We truly appreciate all the help that our families (most especially Kim, Shane, Chie, Nino, Mama Lina) and all the kind souls who have given financial, emotional, and spiritual support.

We would definitely appreciate any support you will be able to offer. No amount is too small to help this brave soul fight the greatest battle of his life. We thank you in advance, we will keep you in our everyday thoughts and prayers. Kindly also do say extra prayers for Ryan as it will help him a lot in this battle.
