Emergency Fundraiser to Save My Family’s Legacy

In 2004, both my parent's passed away unexpectedly leaving behind all our family's heirlooms, photographs, and memories for my brother and I to carry on their legacy and pass on to our own children. My brother passed away in 2011 leaving only myself to take upon this very emotional task to handle all our family's personal belongings including my brother's writings, my mother's paintings, my father's collection of historical items and my own first original paintings. I had nowhere to store everything, and was forced to put it all in storage. All of these items are about to be lost forever at auction because I do not have the money to pay the amount due to save it before it's sold. I do not like asking for help but have no other alternative as this is an emergency fundraiser so I can pay the fees owed and rent a truck to move everything into my new place where I have the room to keep it safely and never be in this situation again.

 

I am an artist who has struggled for many years to have my work shown and am finally starting to receive recognition for my work, therefore I am offering to do whatever I can to thank each donor by giving special signed prints of my work as a means to thank each and everyone of you for helping me during this emergency. My deepest thank you for everyone who is willing to help during this time of desperation. Thank you :)

 

This project is unique in it's urgency and immediate action required to take in order for me to carry on my parent's and family's legacy as this is all I have left and it will all be lost forever as everything my parent's left me, from photo albums, family keepsakes like baby clothes and Christmas ornaments passed on from generation to generation, along with my mother's paintings, my father's historical collection, my brother's writings and my own first paintings are all locked up and going to be sold next Thursday.

 

This is all I have left to remember my family by and am completely distraught at the thought of losing everything just to be sold for profit to someone who has no idea how valuable these items are in personal value not monetary value to me. I am under severe financial distress from a commission falling through at the last minute leaving me  unable to pay for the storage on my own after recently moving and investing all my saved money into my first solo show in New York City.

 

 

Here is a little bit of background information about me if you do not know me personally:

 

I am a fine artist that takes vintage album covers and "iconicizes" them by gilding them in 24 carat gold or silver, and paint them using the same techniques that were used in the Byzantine era. I have recently shown in New York City at the Ward-Nasse Gallery in Soho and was a recipient of a 2012 grant by the Robert Rauchenberg Foundation for my work in fighting for artist's rights and royalties. I have shown and donated my work for such foundations as the Music Cares Foundation, The David Lynch Foundation, The Los Angeles Children's Hospital, and many other charitable organizations. I have a large collector's list featuring many celebrated musicians and celebrities including Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro, David Lynch, Pink and many others. I am represented by the Grammy award winning album design team of Spencer Drate and Judith Salavetz in NYC. I am located in Los Angeles, CA and have had my work shown and featured in several publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine and have had my artwork featured in the acclaimed musical, "Silver For Gold" written and composed by musician David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) based on the life of Edie Sedgewick and shown at the Redcat Theater in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Hall in 2011.
