My friend, Hasan Abu Al-Ros, lives in the Gaza Strip. Here is his message:
"Many Palestinian families in Gaza are in urgent need of emergency relief. Nearly 95% of these families suffer from extreme poverty and chronic diseases. And children are the biggest victims of this situation, caused by the harsh siege imposed on Gaza 14 year ago. Now, adding to this shocking data, covid-19 has caused many people here to lose their jobs and left them without a source of income.
Sadly, many children in Gaza have never experienced anything but siege, war, and an ever-growing cycle of deprivation. But the world is now waking up to the fact that the people of the Gaza Strip live in the largest prison in the world, where 2 million men, women, and children subsist without the basic necessities of life---food, clean water, electricity, and more.
Worse still, this year the month of Ramadan will be different in the Gaza Strip because the corona virus has affected all aspects of the peoples' lives here, creating even more severe shortages of all necessary items for these poor families. Through this campaign, however, we hope to strengthen the resilience of these families and to improve their mental and physical well-being by using your contributions to buy food for the approximately 100 families we serve.
So we call upon those with compassionate hearts and living consciences to lend a hand to the oppressed Palestinian people living in Gaza.
Thank you for your kind assistance,
Hasan Abu Al-Ros"
Please give what you can.
