The situation in Nepal after the earth quake is dire. Thankfully all the children and staff at the HCC orphanage in Kathmandu survived the quake  - however like many people in the area they are too afraid to live and sleep in any of the buildings left standing. The children at the orphanage desperately need your help to provide them with basic shelter, food and water. Here is a short extract from the latest email that we have had from Sudarshan the oldest boy at the orphanage: Namaste papa! We all are safe here from the great heat of Earthquake. We are sorry that we could not inform you before. We just got access to internet and the electricity few hours ago. I am writing you this email from inside the house with the big fear, still we have some continue shacking of earth. I dont know when this will end. All are safe here and no harm to any one beside one of the small boy got a cut on his leg when he fell to the ground. But its not a serious cut. We all are trying our best to protect every one. At the moment we are living in a free space where there is no house and the trees in a small tent. Since 3 days we havent slept good and we have got lots of fear. The problem at the moment is the tent not good, water and the food but there is nothing to worry at the moment. Every one are alive. We all miss you papa and please pass our love to Ann. Lots of loves, Sudarshan, Nepali family Please give what ever you can - we will make sure than the money gets directly to the children to help improve their conditions.
