Emelie’s Voice

Hi! My name is Jennifer. I'm raising funds to publish a children's book I wrote called Emelie's Voice. Emelie's Voice is a book I wrote from my daughter's perspective. She is almost twelve and last year received a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Behaviors we did not understand before became more clear to us as Emelie received mre therapies and services.

Em started to share with us little glimpses into her world and I started jotting things down on paper. Recently, I reread my notesand realized that Emelie was conveying a very strong and personal message to us. I compiled my notes together so I could share them with others.

We wrote and illustrated this story because we wanted kids to be able to understand why someone with Autism may struggle in certain environments. We want kids on the spectrum to know they aren't alone. We want to share this message to any adult who may come in contact with a child on the spectrum so they may foster a better understanding. We wanted to share a glimpse into our world.

I've contacted publishers as we are trying to distribute this book in both ebook and print formats. Also, I've shared our manuscript with teachers and friends whom I know and trust. Their responses has all been the same. They tell me that this story is eye-opening and powerful. I believe in the power of our story and Em is excited at the prospect of sharing our journey with you.
