Eloise’s animal rescue fundraiser- volunteering in Mexico!

Hi, it’s me, Eloise, again, I set up this go fund me because I want to volunteer at an animal shelter for cats and dogs in Mexico in JULY & AUGUST 2023 and I need some help raising funds to get me there and for accommodation whilst I am there! I had originally planned to go in January but unfortunately didn't raise enough in time but I am hoping I can make it this time!

I would also like to reassure everyone that has already kindly donated that the money is still sitting in the fundraising account where it will stay until I have raised enough to pay my fees and flights!

As a lifelong animal friend, I am very excited about the opportunity to volunteer abroad for 4 weeks and make a difference to the lives of animals in need. Since I was little, I have always been obsessed with animals, our dog Bix was my best friend and I was devastated when she passed away. Luckily my Mum agreed to get me kittens to fill that hole when I was 6yrs old, Misfit and Shadow are now almost 13yrs old and both real characters!

After annoying my Mum for years and spending all my Christmas money on pet food to take to Assisi dogs home I had hoped she would give in and let me take a dog home one day, but that didn't happen until a few years later when we rescued Dexter, a big goofy Alaskan Malamute, he is the best dog ever! Unfortunately I no longer have a dog in my life every day which is partly why I am so desperate to take part in this program.

Animal care in Mexico is a growing issue, with large numbers of cats and dogs being abandoned on the streets and stray animals often being put down when they are unable to be rehomed, With the help of myself and others involved I hope we can enable some more change and provide these animals with happier lives.

By volunteering I’ll be providing valuable assistance to non-profit organisations that run shelters for these vulnerable animals, aiming to care for them and help both cats and dogs grow their trust for humans again to enable them to eventually be adopted back into loving homes.

Obviously, this trip comes with some perks for me too, besides the opportunity to look after animals every day, I will travel to places I've long dreamed of and I'll learn about a foreign culture and even learn some Spanish.

I would greatly appreciate a donation to help me travel to Mexico and help the cats and dogs in need. Your contribution will go directly to the cost for me to volunteer, to help pay for my travel, accommodations, food, insurance and costs associated with the volunteering project.
