£860.00raised of £500.00 goal goal
Having started running 18 months ago, I now feel bionic and have entered, along with my cousin Sarah, the Manchester 10k which takes place on Sunday May 10th. I am running to raise money for my niece Ella, who sadly 2 years ago was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis - total hair loss including eyebrows and eyelashes. She is now 10 years old. Money raised will help fund a "hair system" for Ella so she has the option of having hair. Unfortunatley there is limited government funding to the tune of £400.00 a year for alopecia sufferers but the wigs provided by the NHS are totally unsuitable for children, leaving them open to further ridicule, and so the only viable option is to purchase hair systems privately. As Ella grows, new hair systems will be needed to fit her head as she enters her teenage and adult years. Ella is an amazingly positive young girl who with the support of her equally amazing 7 year old sister, Ruby, copes as best she can with this cruel condition. Money raised will be put towards the costs of future hair systems for Ella - average cost £3500.00 per system - and help ease her personal daily battle. So, if you can spare some change and let me do the road pounding, your cash support will help a very special young lady and niece. THANK YOU!!!

Only 4 more sleeps before the big day!!! About to do my penultimate run this morning. A gentle 35 minutes the training programme says. Thanks again for your donations. A difference has already been made for Ella. If you could spare a £1.00 what a difference that would make too.
