Campaign Story
Elken is a 6 month old boy. He was born with fibular hemimelia, on his right leg. The fibular bone is 100% absent. His ankle did not form correctly and his right leg is shorter than the left leg.
The orthopaedic sys there is only 10% change of surgical success. To build a ankle and to stretch his leg. The best option is to amputate. They will have to amputate from under the knee.
He will need a prosthetic leg. He will need a new leg every year as he grow. They want to do the surgery before he learns to walk so that he can adapt while walking with the prosthetic.Elken is a happy and busy little boy and will be ready to walk in no time.
We are a young married couple it was a big shock for both of us we went to the best doctor in South- Africa and the best option is to amputate. We only want the best life for our little boy so that he can live a happy and normal life.There for we need money to give our little boy the best live. Any contribution will be highly appreciated. The procedure and prosthetic are expensive there for we started the campaign to collect any donations.
