My name is Sharon Revoldela, 37 years old, married with 3 children. We are a typical Filipino family where in the father works to provide for his family's needs and the wife cares for the children at home. We don't have much, and we were barely making ends meet, but always thankful for every blessing that God gives us.
Last July, our son Elijah, 6 years old, was taken to the hospital due to a sudden loss of weight, appetite and vomiting. The doctor recommended taking Elijah to the Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC) where there are specialists who can further diagnose my son's condition. During his confinement and after numerous tests, the doctors at PCMC confirmed that our son has T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with mass lesion in his left lung.
My husband was forced to take a leave of absence from work to take care of our son while undergoing chemotherapy, the doctor said would normally run for 2-3 years. With each month of chemotherapy costing Php65,688.00 and no salary coming in for us; my husband and I are at a complete loss as to how to move forward. Thus, I am knocking at your kind hearts for my son’s continuous chemotherapy and my family’s welfare. Every prayer and donation will be of great help to us.
