I am a 20-year-old first year electrician student, currently in my practical phase of my studies.

Yesterday, 16 November 2018 while I was busy working on an apprentice contract job, something went wrong and I got an electrical shock. I was thrown backwards from the ladder and I hit my head on a crate.

Next thing I remember I woke up at home totally confused with no memory of what happened with a bleeding head injury. My parents immediately took me to the trauma unit of the hospital.

As I am an apprentice, I have no medical aid and also don't qualify for injury on duty. After a series of blood tests confirmed that the electricity went through my whole body, the doctor confirmed it went through my organs and caused muscle breakdown. The doctor suggested that a CT scan had to be done to make sure there were no bleeding on the brain.

The doctor was concerned because I had a big concussion with heavy memory loss and confusion, but at least the CT scan showed no bleeding on the brain. They cleaned my wound and gave me a couple of injections. They sent me home with a strict list of symptoms to check over the next two weeks and prescription medication.

The total medical cost came down to R8000. So any donation to help me out would really be appreciated.
