Elective abroad

As most of you know I am currently in my 2nd year of Children's Nursing at Surrey University. At the end of 2nd year we get a chance to spend a month on placement where ever we wish as long as its health related and something we have always wanted to try, most people choose something that interests them or a passion to them or they try something new.

I am hoping to try something new and go out my comfort zone by travelling to Sri Lanka for one month from 26/08/19 - 22/09/19. For me, travelling alone is quite a daunting experience which has never interested me. However, I am so passionate about going to a 3rd world country and experiencing their health care. The idea of observing and learning about the differences and similarities out in Sri Lanka would be such an amazing experience that I would carry with me as a future nurse.

I am very passionate about the idea of going abroad for my elective, to not just see a different healthcare system but also to meet new people, share new experiences and be away from home for a whole month when I am so used to living at home and being surrounded by people I know. I am willing to put myself out there as this is a 'once in a life time experience'.

I would be so grateful for any donations towards my trip. It really doesn't help that Im a student nurse working full hours with no pay and this trip will cost around £2000 so extra pennies will make all the difference! From little to big donations, I will be forever grateful to help fund for this elective trip. I really want to make sure I push myself out my comfort zone and experience something very different! If I make it out there I promise to share my experiences and pictures with those who are interested.
