¿Qué es 'El anexo'?

El anexo es una película basada en hechos reales que busca llevar al espectador a la realidad que se vive en México y en latinoamérica con respecto a este tipo de lugares que se encuentran fuera de la ley. Todo transcurre en el año 2007, en la ciudad de Mérida, Yucatán, México. Como muchos recordarán, fueron años en los que hubo una grave crisis debido a la guerra contra los carteles de drogas y las masacres, que hasta la fecha no han parado debido al enorme conflicto político económico y social que representan estos grupos armados y el elevado índice de personas que todos los días se vuelven consumidores y adictos además de la falta de infraestructura por parte del Estado y la necesidad de centros de rehabilitación autorizados por el gobierno creando así una tormenta perfecta.

¿De qué trata 'El anexo'?

El personaje principal de esta película, Francisco, es anexado por su familia, ya que esta es muy conservadora y cerrada con respecto al tema de las drogas, además, está metida en un grupo de neuróticos anónimos (N.A.), los cuales son quienes llevan a su madre a tomar la decisión de encerrarlo por seis meses sin la certeza de que tenga un verdadero problema de drogas o una recuperación en dicho lugar.

El desarrollo del filme sucede principalmente dentro del anexo y lo que ahí acontece en el transcurso de los tres meses y medio que el personaje principal vive en este terrible lugar hasta que finalmente es liberado por su propia familia debido a la presión social que reciben.

La música será creada por Xmahaná, quien desde 2014 hace diseño sonoro y videos musicales.

¿Por qué hacer este proyecto?

La razón social en este proyecto es muy clara, queremos lograr hacer justicia y que se escuchan las voces de los muchos jóvenes que se encuentran en este momento siendo vulnerados, agredidos, vejados... hasta asesinados.

Para nosotros es importante que el gobierno regularice este tipo de lugares y que si bien el Estado no es capaz de proveer este tipo de servicios de rehabilitación, al menos haga un esfuerzo por regularlos y vigilarlos.

¿Cuál es el estatus del proyecto?

En este momento estamos en posproducción. Esta etapa debe de durar una semana aproximadamente. El filme debería de estar listo para principios del mes de agosto. Esta rapidez la podemos lograr gracias a el gran compromiso de cada uno de los miembros de este proyecto.

¿Cómo usaremos tu ayuda?

Para poder costear este proyecto hemos dispuesto de fondos que debemos retornar. El dinero de tu ayuda nos servirá para poder pagar muchos de los servicios y gastos de preproducción, rodaje y posproducción. Algunos de estos gastos son el talento artístico de los actores y diseñadores así como la renta del equipo.

¿What is The Annex?

The annex is a film based on real events that seeks to take the viewer to the reality that exists in Mexico and Latin America with respect to this type of places that are outside the law, rehab centers. Everything takes place in the year 2007 and it happens in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. As many will remember, there were years in which there was a serious crisis due to the war against drug cartels and massacres, to date they have not stopped due to the enormous political, economic and social conflict that these armed groups represent and the high rate of people that every day they become consumers and addicts in addition to the lack of infrastructure on the part of the State and the need for rehab centers authorized by the government thus creating a perfect storm.

What is The Annex about?

The main character, Francisco, is annexed by his family since it is very conservative and closed with respect to the issue of drugs and besides everything is involved in a group of anonymous neurotics in which they are the ones who carry his mother to make the decision to lock him up for six months without the certainty that he has a real drug problem.

The development of the film happens mainly within the annex and what happens there during the three and a half months that the main character lives in this terrible place until he is finally released by his own family due to the social pressure they receive.

The music will be created by Xmahaná, who since 2014 has been doing sound design and music videos.

Why do this project?

The social reason in this project is very clear, we want to achieve justice and that the voices of the many young people who are currently being violated, attacked, humiliated ... even murdered are heard.

For us it is important that the government regularize these types of places and that, although the State is not capable of providing this type of rehabilitation services, at least it makes an effort to regulate and monitor them.

What is the status of the project?

Right now we are in pre-production and about to start shooting. The shoot should last about a couple of weeks before going into post-production. The film should be ready by the beginning of August. We can achieve this speed thanks to the great commitment of each of the members of this project.

How will we use your help?

In order to pay for this project, we have had funds that we must return. The money from your help will not only pay for many of the pre-production, filming and post-production services and expenses, but also some stuff, like the artistic talent (the actors), the designers and as well as the rental of the equipment.
